PMI Leaders meeting in Malmö -trip report

Three PMI Finland board members, Vesa Koskela, Javier Martin and Lutful Mandson visited PMI Europe Leaders (“Region-8″) meeting in Malmö Sweden 17-19 November.

Region-8 meeting is yearly conference where European chapter board members and volunteer leaders join to share their experiences on PMI activities, network with other chapters, learn and have fun together.

This year’s R8-meeting had attendance from 30+ chapters, with total of 170 participants from all across Europe.

On Friday 17th there was meeting with chapter presidents and european co-operation liasons, focusing on co-operation pilot projects between European chapters: Mentoring program, Corporate ambassador and Speakers bureau, running until May 2018. Finland chapter is part of Speakers bureau activity aiming to create database of speakers making it easier for chapters to create high quality conferences and other events.

Saturday and Sunday included three parallel tracks with speakers from different chapters sharing their experiences. Topics include e.g. different partnership models with sponsors, experiences from marketing activities, how GDPR shall be taken into account in chapters, etc, etc.

Equally important to presentations, we all had great networking discussions with chapter leaders from all across Europe sharing experiences and ideas as well as agreed actions for continued collaboration.  On Saturday evening we were enjoying excellent dinner generously offered by mayor of Malmö.

Team Finland,
Vesa Koskela, President
Javier Martin, Board member, Finance
Lutful Mandson, Board member
