BRT Helsinki 20.10.2017 – Case: Building a capability to improve organization effectiveness
October 20 @ 08:00 - 10:00Free
A large number of organizations make use of projects and delivery programs to provide value to their customers and shareholders.
A project is by definition a temporary unique endeavor and has a clearly specified beginning and end time, unique and defined scope, resources, tools and ways of working. After the project ends, it is not uncommon that some of all of the working practices established in the project are not re-used in the future projects.
This causes significant losses of money time and eventually of value generated by the project.
One way to mitigate this risk is to build business capabilities that provide dedicated services to delivering programs. Capabilities ensure an alignment between working practices in the organization, with the final objective to provide standardized working practices to the delivery programs they are servicing.
This presentation discusses how a capability was built in Nordea in the context of a big program that delivered a new payment system, and the benefits it has produced to the program itself and to the wider Nordea organization
